Focus Tracker is a Chrome extension that helps you understand how you spend time online. This page explains exactly what data the extension collects and how it's used.

What we collect

Focus Tracker records:

• The domain names of websites you visit (for example, "example.com") and how many seconds you spend on each one, while your browser window is focused and you are not idle.
• Category labels you manually assign to a domain (for example, tagging "example.com" as "Work").

Focus Tracker does not collect full page URLs, page content, search queries, form input, passwords, or any personally identifying information.

How the data is used

This data is used for one purpose only: to show you a summary of your own browsing time inside the extension's popup and reports dashboard. It is not used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond displaying your own usage back to you.

Where the data is stored

All tracked data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage APIs (chrome.storage.local). Nothing is sent to a server. We do not operate a backend, and we cannot see, access, or collect your browsing data ourselves.

Third-party services

If you choose to purchase the Pro upgrade, the extension sends your license key to Gumroad's license verification API (api.gumroad.com) solely to confirm your purchase and unlock paid features. No browsing data is included in that request. Please refer to Gumroad's own privacy policy for how they handle payment and license information.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, or share your browsing data with any third party, for any purpose.

Your control over your data

You can clear all tracked data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome, which deletes its local storage. There is no account or server-side record to separately delete.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data ever changes, we will update this page and, if the change is significant, notify users through the extension's update notes.
